"His darkness has specific gravity. His purgatories are not aesthetic inventions โ€” they are the logical consequences of how guilt works when it is not processed but only compressed."

Andrea Feralo โ€” Writer

I write because I cannot do otherwise. It is not a dramatic statement โ€” it is the most precise description I have found of something that has been happening since before I could give it a name. The Debt of the Soul is my debut novel, published in 2026, and like all true first books it carries inside it years of silence before a single written word.

Joseph is not a character I invented. I remembered him. There is an enormous difference between the two gestures, and anyone who has ever written something real โ€” not decorative, not built to please, but real in the sense that truth hurts when you touch it โ€” knows exactly what I am talking about. When you invent, you have control. When you remember, you have none of that. You follow. You transcribe.

Dark fantasy has always interested me not for darkness as scenography, but for what darkness reveals when you take it seriously. The purgatories I built in this book are not gothic places โ€” they are psychological mechanisms taken to their extreme form. Guilt that is not processed finds its final form. It is logic, not magic.

I am also the composer of the novel's original soundtrack: thirty-one tracks, one for each chapter. The music does not tell what you are already reading. It inhabits it. That is the reason it exists.

The last thing I always say, when someone asks: I do not feel like a writer yet. I have been told that is precisely the proof that I am one.
